SHETLAND pony breeder, carriage driver and policewoman, Elinor Bosanquet has won a number of awards with Police Scotland’s equestrian section.
Representing Police Scotland and SPRA, she won the PSUK Equestrian Section National Championship awards for her equestrian endeavours. Elinor, who is based at a north Aberdeen station, was presented with her awards by ACC Mairs at a ceremony in Inverurie.
In July last year, Elinor won a regional PSUK championship in the driving classes at the Scottish National Equestrian Centre and in September travelled to the PSUK National Equestrian Championships in Buckinghamshire to compete in showing, dressage and showjumping on Dannaway Matty.
She won the ridden showing and then, thanks to her results in the other disciplines, took the PSUK Overall Show Championship Shield and the prestigious Queen Elizabeth Services Rider of Great Britain Memorial Cup as the highest performing services rider at the championships.

Elinor, who also runs the Clothie Shetland Pony Stud, said: “This is my proudest, once in a lifetime achievement with my superstar partner in crime Storm. A massive thank you to Blue Lights Horse Show, PSUK Equestrian Section and Scottish Police Recreation Association and everyone who has supported our journey. It’s a team game and none would be possible without it.”
