Get involved in the Scottish equestrian scene
At The Equine Times, we are passionate about the equestrian scene in the north of Scotland. Our platform is dedicated to showcasing the riders and competitors, the clinics, shows and demonstrations in all equestrian disciplines from the Highlands and Islands to Perthshire.
We cater for everyone, from the riding school clients who don't have their own horses but compete at in-house events, to Pony Club, the various affiliated and unaffiliated riding clubs to BD, BE and British Showjumping.
Alongside this we will cover showing, side saddle, driving, western and vaulting.
There will be features with top North-east riders and trainers, reports on successful competitors at all levels, a results section and an equestrian events diary.
Look out for guides on how to compete in BD Quest, HOYS qualifiers and PC qualifying events.
Alongside will be our features 'A Day in the Life of...' and 'My Favourite Things' and a Breed of the Month column, where you can send in pictures of your own horse or pony to illustrate the breed. We will start off with one of the British native breeds, the Connemara.
The farriers, vets and equine dentists in the area will also be writing columns to help improve everyone's knowledge of horse welfare.

She is passionate about the grass roots of equestrianism, the riding schools where the love of horses starts for many riders.
As a former riding school client herself for eight years before she got her first pony, she knows how important the centres are for encouraging youngsters and helping them improve their skills, knowledge and confidence.
Kirsten has had a variety of horses, including a TB eventer competing at Pre-Novice level, but now concentrates on her native ponies, a Highland and a New Forest.
