Celebrate the Glorious Finale at Perth races this week with a bumper two-day card

THE last meeting of the season will take place at Perth Racecourse tomorrow (Wed 23rd September) and Thursday.

Billed as the oldest fixture at the racecourse, it first took place in 1613 on the South Inch when racing began at Perth. In 1908 it moved to the parklands of Scone Palace and offers two days of top class National Hunt racing.

This year Mickey Bowen is hoping to win again at Perth and has his sights set on the £25,000 feature race tomorrow, the Paul Ferguson Jumpers To Follow David Whitaker's 3-mile Handicap Chase, where he will saddle Tamarind Bay, ridden by his brother James Bowen.

He won last year with Statuario and is keen to hold on to the trophy this year with Tamarind Bay - although there is some stiff competition from Lucinda Russell and Michael Scudamore's King of Amswers and The Real Whacker, trained by Patrick Neville.

Tomorrow, it is a six-card race, with the gates opening at 12noon, the first race is at 2.12pm and the last at 5.07pm.
