NMW Riding Academy's Easter events includes PC tests, shows and training

NMW Riding Academy, Inverurie, has an Easter holiday diary of events for clients which includes Pony Club test days, a day camp and competitions.

The Easter events start with an arena eventing clinic and showing show (a report and results will appear in the April edition) at the end of March before the tests, camp and showjumping are held.



The following have been organised:


  • Wednesday 1st April - Mini Road Rider Badge at NMW

  • Thursday 2nd April - D and D+ training and test at NMW

  • Thursday 2nd April - Big PC Farming Badge ar SRUC, Sunnybrae

  • Tuesday 7th April - Easter day camp ast NMW

  • Tuesday 7th April - PC C Test training day at NMW

  • Wednesday 8th April - PC Big Road Rider Badge at NMW

  • Thursday 9th April - PC C+ test training at NMW

  • Friday 10th April - Easter showjumping show at NMW



Summer camp brings top coaches to NMW

The June adult camp is a special addition this year – held at NMW, it is open to riders over the age of 13 years who can bring their own horse or hire one from the riding school.

From June 5th to 7th, there will be three top class coaches available for riding instruction and on the ground learning covering flatwork, showjumping and cross country with jumping from 40cms to 80cms.

The instructors include Scottish coach Jen Morris, BHSI and British Eventing Level 3 coach, who has extensive experience of teaching from the grass roots levels to performance riders and focuses on correct foundations, rider understanding and confidence building.

Sam York is an international coach, educator and equestrian consultant, a Fellow of The British Horse Society and a UKCC Level 4 coach, coach educator and BHS Lead Assessor.

She is a British Eventing (BE) accredited coach and the BE Youth Coach for riders aged 12 to 21 years as well as official coach to the British Army’s equestrian sports teams under the Army Sports Council.

Richard Johnston-Smith is a BHSI, BDCC and BECC Level 3 coach with over 20 years of experience coaching every kind of pupil, from leisure riders to those taking part in affiliated competition. He is also British Eventing Lead Coach for Scotland.

The June camp is now open for booking. There will be bunk beds available on-site for riders if required and food is provided. Alongside riding, the participants will be involved in horse care and learning off the horse as well as looking after their equine partners.
